PRESS RELEASE: Testa, Jr. Challenges Nike to Donate All Betsy Ross Sneakers to Homeless GOP Senate hopeful says letting the shoes go to waste would make a bad situation worse

Press Release.jpg

Republican candidate for state Senate in LD1, Michael Testa, Jr. weighed in on the Betsy Ross Sneakers controversy today. Testa has a great idea, Nike should listen. Testa’s press release on the issue follows:

Vineland, Wednesday, July 3, 2019 – A day after he called for a national boycott of Nike for their decision to scrap a Betsy Ross Flag-themed sneaker after alleged pressure from Colin Kaepernick and afar-left, politically-correct culture run amok, 1st Legislative District Senate candidate Mike Testa, Jr. called on Nike to donate the unused sneakers to the homeless, particularly homeless veterans.

“While apparently the corporate executives at Nike are ashamed of putting the Betsy Ross Flag on their shoes, I am sure that homeless Americans – particularly our homeless veterans – would be proud to wear them on their feet – let alone grateful,” said Testa, Jr., who is Past Chair of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland and Salem Counties.  “Letting these perfectly good shoes go to waste would only compound this asinine and tone-deaf decision by Nike.  Since they recalled the shoes already shipped to stores and likely have hundreds of thousands of them sitting in a warehouse somewhere, it makes perfect sense to give them to people who need them.”

Testa, Jr. called the Nike fiasco a disgrace and called on longstanding Nike consumers – like himself – to find another company to give their business to.

“I don’t know who the people are making these decisions, but the degree to which they are disconnected from regular people in places like Vineland, Millville, Ocean City, Lower Township and Middle Township is stunning,” said Testa, Jr.  “Being a proud American should never be a partisan issue, no matter who sits in the White House.  Shame on these far-left fanatics and shame on the Democratic Party for embracing them.”

PRESS RELEASE: Booker’s Immigration Plan Is Wrong For America

Press Release.jpg

US Senator/ Democratic party presidential candidate Cory Booker released his immigration plan and Republican candidate for US Senate Tricia Flanagan has some serious issues with his plan. Her press release on the issue follows:

Booker’s Immigration Plan Is Wrong For America

Booker needs to stop encouraging illegal border crossings

LAWRENCEVILLE – Republican Senate candidate Tricia Flanagan said today that the “immigration plan” released by US Senator Cory Booker is “wrong for border residents and wrong for America.”

“It’s a strange coincidence that on the same day I spoke on the phone with Tricia Elbrock, a rancher and small business owner in Hidalgo County, New Mexico, Cory Booker released an immigration plan that could devastate rural areas in the southwestern United States,” Tricia Flanagan said. “Mr. Booker’s plan to ‘virtually eliminate immigration detention’ tells me he hasn’t talked with one person suffering the negative effects of illegal border crossers.”

“Mr. Booker’s plan embodies exactly what Mrs. Elbrock meant when she told me members of Congress don’t care about them,” Flanagan remarked.

“I listened as Mrs. Elbrock explained to me how there’s always been illegal immigrant traffic in the area she lives and how the folks coming now are different.” Flanagan explained, “Illegal border crossers come on ranchers’ properties and demand assistance, and they’re the nice people.”

“An employee of Mrs. Elbrock’s was kidnapped, she, and others, have had their homes broken into.” Flanagan continued, “Others have found bundles of drugs on their ranches, only to have property stolen or damaged as retaliation for calling Border Patrol when the drugs were found.”

“These are the realities of life along the border, but Cory Booker doesn’t care because he’s too busy lurching left-ward as a part of his vanity presidential campaign,” Flanagan explained. “It’s ideas like ‘virtually eliminating immigration detention’ and endorsing the idea of decriminalizing illegal border crossings, like he did in the debate, that encourage people to continue to illegally cross our southern border.”

“After speaking with Mrs. Elbrock, a person Mr. Booker will likely never speak with because her story and the stories of her neighbors don’t fit his narrative, I’m more convinced than I ever was in the need for us to build the wall.” Flanagan said, “It’s time for Mr. Booker to end his vanity presidential campaign and stop encouraging illegal behavior that puts Americans at risk.”

PRESS RELEASE: Cory Booker’s Disingenuous No PAC Money Pledge

Press Release.jpg

Declared Republican candidate for US Senate Tricia Flanagan called out US Senator Cory Booker for his disingenuous no PAC money pledge today. Her press release follows:

Cory Booker’s Disingenuous No PAC Money Pledge

Booker’s 50 Shades of PAC Money

LAWRENCEVILLE – As progressives around New Jersey complain that Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo and South Jersey political powerbroker George Norcross are co-hosting a fundraiser for US Senator Cory Booker’s vanity presidential campaign today the one thing they continue to ignore is that Booker’s pledge not to accept PAC money is disingenuous.

Republican Senate candidate Tricia Flanagan said, “It’s easy for Senator Booker to pledge not to accept PAC money when he’s attending a fundraiser co-hosted by the man most political observers view as the person connected to the General Majority PAC.”

Flanagan asked, “How many donors to General Majority will be at today’s fundraiser?”

“Let’s not forget Governor Murphy held a fundraiser at his home for Booker earlier this year,” Flanagan added, “One has to wonder how many donors to New Direction New Jersey, the ‘dark money’ group Murphy has solicited funds for, wrote checks at that event.”

“My point is, it’s easy to say you won’t accept PAC money when you have the people raising money for PACs raising money for you. It makes Mr. Booker’s no PAC money pledge disingenuous. Frankly, I’m surprised Cory Booker’s fellow progressives haven’t figured it out,” Flanagan stated.

“Perhaps this kind of dishonesty is why when you do as a Booker campaign email suggests and ‘check out Street Fight, the story of Cory’s first campaign for Mayor of Newark’ you learn that ‘Jesse Jackson comes to town and calls Cory a wolf in Sheep’s clothing,’” Flanagan remarked. “Obviously, there was a time activists on the left could see through Mr. Booker’s deceitfulness.”

“Given the fact that Mr. Booker has created his own personal loophole to get around taking PAC money it could be time for a new ‘50 Shades’ movie. We could call it ‘Booker’s 50 Shades of PAC Money,’” Flanagan said.
