Gloucester County Republican Chairwoman Jacci Vigilante announced today that the Gloucester County GOP has awarded the line to Rik Mehta for U.S. Senate, Congressman Jeff Van Drew in the Second Congressional District and Claire Gustafson in the First Congressional District. The organization’s press release on the matter follows:

Gloucester County Republican Chairwoman Jacci Vigilante announced today the organization has endorsed Rik Mehta for U.S. Senate, Congressman Jeff Van Drew in the Second Congressional District and Claire Gustafson in the First Congressional District.

“In the US Senate race, after a thorough screening process through a Screening Committee, whose recommendations were made to the Executive Committee, Rik Mehta was awarded the Party line,” Jacci Vigilante said. “The thoroughness of our screening process ensured the Executive Committee that Rik Mehta is a conservative Republican with a keen grasp of the issues who is ready to take the fight to Cory Booker.”

Vigilante continued, “Also earning the party’s endorsement for the Second Congressional District is incumbent Congressman Jeff Van Drew. The Congressman is an excellent addition to our GOP family who cares deeply for our country and is a tireless advocate for South Jersey. Gloucester County GOP is proud to join President Trump in endorsing Congressman Van Drew.

“In the First Congressional District Claire Gustafson has earned the party’s endorsement. Claire has a history of stepping up for the Camden County GOP, is a former member of the School Board in Collingswood, is the Collingswood Republican chair and most recently resurrected Camden County’s Republican women organization. She’s got the experience and the ability to build the organization necessary to mount a competitive campaign against Donald Norcross.”

Vigilante added, “Both, Congressman Van Drew and Claire Gustafson care about our county and respect our process, so much so that while no other candidates for Congress in either district asked to be screened they both appeared before the Screening Committee because they wanted to earn our endorsement and not simply be given the line.”

“President Trump won Gloucester County in 2016 and Bob Hugin won Gloucester County in 2018, I believe in 2020 these candidates, along with our team of Freeholder candidates, Greenwich Township Mayor George Shivery, entrepreneur Chris Konawel and Franklin Township School Board member Nick DeSilvio will keep voters in the column all the way down to the municipal level and Gloucester County Republicans will enjoy electoral success in 2020,” Vigilante said.

Nancy Pelosi Is Doing Her Part To Help Phil Murphy Become The California Of The East Coast

Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi

Remember when Governor Phil Murphy said he wants to make New Jersey the California of the East Coast?

In case you forgot, Murphy said it in January of 2018 in an interview posted on NJ.com. Here is the quote from the article:

He said the model is California, another heavily populated, deeply blue state -- where Democrat Jerry Brown took over for Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger eight years ago.

Murphy said he spoke with Brown about two months ago and told him that New Jersey aspires to be "the California of the East Coast."

So, exactly how is Nancy Pelosi helping Murphy make New Jersey the California of the East Coast? She’s raising money for New Jersey Democrats!

As you know, Pelosi is joining Congressman Donald Norcross in a “Rally for Progress” on February 29th and Camden County Republicans are planning a “warm welcome” for her. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Pelosi is also coming to fundraise for Norcross.

Not only is Pelosi raising money for Norcross, she is also sending emails through Senator Cory Booker’s re-election campaign begging for money for Booker.

We have Nancy Pelosi raising money and advocating for New Jersey Democrats. Phil Murphy supports the same Democrats!

Maybe the first step in stopping Pelosi from helping Murphy make New Jersey the California of the East Coast is joining the Camden County GOP in their “warm welcome” for her on the 29th. Go to their Facebook page to learn how you can join them.

ICYMI: Camden County Republicans Are Planning A “Warm Welcome” For Nancy Pelosi

Donald Norcross

Donald Norcross

In less than two weeks Nancy Pelosi will be in South Jersey at Camden County College in Blackwood to join CD1 Congressman Donald Norcross in a “Rally for Progress.” Norcross says, “we are going to show Donald Trump that South Jersey is not ‘Trump Country.’” No doubt Norcross and his Democrat friends are still upset that President Trump had a successful rally in Wildwood.

The Norcross campaign has been pushing this event (and a fundraiser) on social media and through mailers. Interestingly, Republicans in Democrat controlled towns who have been appointed to municipal boards and commissions have been getting the mailers, which calls into question where the campaign’s mailing lists come from, but that’s a story for another day.

According to Patch.com Camden County Republicans are planning “what is being called a ‘warm welcome’ for Nancy Pelosi.”

The article goes on to say:

She will appear at Camden County College's Blackwood Campus on Feb. 29, according to an email Norcross issued to supporters last week. Crone said Republicans will gather at the college on the same day to welcome a House Speaker he refers to as among the "most divisive speakers" there has ever been.

And, Camden County GOP’s executive director Tom Crone says:

"She's coming here because Donald Trump came here," Crone said. "They're going to rally Democrats who are political appointees who will be told to go there and smile. It's not going to be an organic rally like it was in Wildwood (for Trump)."

The Patch.com piece continues:

Crone said he expects a crowd similar to the one that greeted then House Speaker Harry Reid when he came to Cherry Hill for a fundraiser in 2014. That year, Reid was there to support Norcross, who was in the midst of his first bid for Congress.

That crowd had a heavy Tea Party influence, whereas this will be a crowd supporting an incumbent president who calls South Jersey "Trump Country."

Camden County Republicans are expecting a good turnout for this event and I have learned they are planning a sign making party in the lead up to the event. Visit the Camden County GOP Facebook page to learn more.

This could be an exciting event. The last time I joined Tom Crone for a “protest” type event was in 2003. Tom, his son, my father and I were dragged out of a Camden County Freeholder meeting by the Winslow Township Police.
