New Jersey Jumps On The Ultra Left-Wing Sue President Trump Bandwagon

bigstock-Judicial-Hammer-On-A-Wooden-T-119911805.jpg

New Jersey has joined other states, all with Democratic attorneys general, in suing President Donald Trump over the border wall. Obviously, not one of these attorneys general give a damn about what folks, some of whom are my friends, living along the border go through on a daily basis.

They claim there is no emergency along the border with Mexico. According to NJ.com, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal went so far as to say:

“As the chief law enforcement officer for New Jersey, I have a duty to stand up for New Jersey’s residents – including our immigrant community – and so I’m joining states across the country in challenging this emergency declaration in court,” Grewal said in a statement provided to NJ Advance Media on Monday.

I agree, the New Jersey Attorney General does have “a duty to stand up for New Jersey’s residents.” I’m a New Jersey resident, born and raised here. I also lived for several years in a border state and have many friends living along the border with Mexico and those friends will tell you there is a crisis where they live.

My first question is simple, does Mr. Grewal believe he is standing up for me? As a New Jersey resident I have to say, no he’s not standing up for me.

An obvious question is how would New Jersey’s Attorney General know whether or not there is an emergency along the nation’s southern border? Does he have knowledge of the situation? Has he ever spent any time in a border state? Has he talked with one person who has had a negative experience with anyone crossing the border illegally?

I know for a fact he hasn’t spoken with any of my friends back in New Mexico. If the state’s Attorney General had spoken to any of them he would have heard stories of homes being broken into, property stolen and/or damaged, threats on peoples’ lives and worse. My suspicion is Mr. Grewal doesn’t want to speak to any of these folks because their stories don’t match the narrative he wants to push.

The thing is, Mr. Grewal doesn’t have to speak with any of these folks. He could read a message from a border resident right here on this website and learn what folks are dealing with. He could listen to episodes 28, 29 and 30 of The Bob & Steve Show and hear the stories of border residents.

Simply put, I don’t believe Attorney General Grewal wants to hear their stories. I don’t think he cares, not when he sends out Tweets like this:

Notice the quotation marks around the word emergency? It’s an obvious attempt at implying the emergency is made up, yet I personally know people who will tell you it’s not made up. And, talking about undermining public safety in New Jersey is a joke considering the sanctuary status of New Jersey undermines public safety. To me, statements like that make Mr. Grewal a hypocrite.

And, what about this Tweet by our Attorney General:

Grewal Tweet 2.JPG

Seriously? “On Friday, the President ignored the rule of law and manufactured a crisis - all in the service of his ideological agenda. Today, we're fighting back.” He had the nerve to write that, but doesn’t see Governor Phil Murphy making New Jersey a sanctuary state as ignoring the rule of law all to service his ideological agenda! It’s just another example of hypocrisy from the Attorney General.

Ignored the rule of law? I am not a lawyer, but I have to ask, isn’t that exactly what sanctuary cities and states do? Ignore the rule of law by not cooperating with federal law enforcement?

I get it, we’re The Bob & Steve Show and our views lean unapologetically to the right, but no matter how you look at it the State of New Jersey joining this lawsuit is nothing more than far left-wing political grandstanding. And, to my friends back in New Mexico, I apologize for my home state not believing you and sincerely hope that none of you ever again have Border Patrol agents ever find 12 men in the country illegally with backpacks loaded with drugs and carrying AK47s in a building on your property.

It Appears Gloucester Township’s (Allegedly) Blackface Wearing School Board Member’s Photo Received 11 Likes

Brian Reagan

Brian Reagan

It’s unfortunate, but when you run a blog, every once in a while folks try to say something you posted is untrue. Fortunately, if something shows up on the internet, it’s there forever.

In this particular instance it was more of a case of a few people asking “are you sure it’s really him” after we posted a photo of newly elected Gloucester Township school board member Brian Reagan (allegedly) wearing blackface.

Well, we at The Bob & Steve Show did a little more digging, and, thanks to an old Facebook post we obtained, we’re pretty sure it’s really him. The picture received 11 likes.

Based on comments under the social media post it appears Reagan dressed up as Tiger Woods. Given the dates were October 30 and 31 he was likely dressed for a Halloween event back in 2010, 11 months after Tiger Woods crashed his car outside his Florida mansion.

Reagan supporters might argue 2010 is a little old, but these days things that happened in high school and college are fair game and based on Reagan’s age he had been out of high school and college for a long time in 2010.

So, was the picture posted on this blog really Gloucester Township’s newly elected school board member Brian Reagan. The evidence suggests yes, but take a look and decide for yourself or go to a school board meeting and ask.

New Jersey Gave Away $1.6 Million In Financial Aid Because Republicans Don’t know How To Fight

Money_413881.jpg

There has been a lot of talk and news coverage about New Jersey spending “$1.6 million to help send 513 undocumented immigrants to college during the fall 2018 semester.” According to NJ.com:

The college financial aid was handed out for the first time thanks to a new law signed by Gov. Phil Murphy that offers taxpayer-funded grants and scholarships to New Jersey "Dreamers" who are living in the country illegally.

Now, I could go on and on about how “Dreamers” are being rewarded for an illegal act performed by their parents, but why bother.

The real question is, how did we get here? And, the answer is, Republicans don’t know how to fight.

Nearly every story I’ve read on this issue uses the phrase “undocumented immigrants” or a couple of times I’ve seen “undocumented students.”

“Undocumented immigrant” is too nice a term, and Republicans just let it happen. The “Drop the I-Word “ campaign was launched in 2010 to advocate for the use of terms such as “undocumented immigrants” or “unauthorized immigrants” when referring to foreign nationals living in the United States illegally. Rather than pushback Republicans just let the liberals keep repeating the phrase “undocumented immigrant” until the Associated Press dropped “illegal immigrant” from its stylebook in 2013.

Rather than rolling over and playing dead Republicans should have just kept using the phrase “illegal alien.” And, every single time the liberal left pushed back Republicans could have simply reminded them “illegal alien” is a term used in many U.S. statutes, 2 USC 658, "8 USC 1252c, 8 USC 1330, 8 USC 1356, 8 USC 1365, and I could go on, but you get the idea.

And, let’s not forget that as recently as last summer the Justice Department “instructed US attorneys offices not to use the term "undocumented" immigrants and instead refer to someone illegally in the US as ‘an illegal alien.’” According to a CNN report:

The Justice Department has instructed US attorneys offices not to use the term "undocumented" immigrants and instead refer to someone illegally in the US as "an illegal alien," according to a copy of an agency-wide email obtained by CNN.

According to the email, the Justice Department uses terms in the US Code to describe an individual who is illegally in the US, and thus refers to them as "an illegal alien."

"The word 'undocumented' is not based in US code and should not be used to describe someone's illegal presence in the country," the email states.

Don’t be afraid to say “illegal alien.” It’s a term used in U.S. statutes, in other words, a term used in the law. “Undocumented” just sounds too nice, it paints an entirely different picture, it makes folks think the illegal alien one is referring to did nothing wrong, when they in fact did do something wrong.

Using the kind phrase “undocumented” and allowing others to use it is simply giving up before the argument even begins and gives the liberals running our state the opportunity to give away over $1 million to folks in the country illegally rather than help actual U.S. citizens.

Bottom line: Republicans better start fighting harder or we can all get prepared to give away millions more of our hard earned tax dollars.
