Elizabeth Warren Was In Jersey

Elizabeth Warren came to New Jersey last week to raise money for Andy Kim and Tom Malinowski, Democrats running for Congress in CD 3 and 7.

To be honest, I didn’t pay much attention to this because every time Warren speaks all I hear is Charlie Brown’s teacher.

One thing I did notice was NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt released a statement regarding the fact she was here. Not a long statement but he took a punch, maybe a jab, but he did something.

As my political style was once described by an activist, kindly, as “aggressive” and by others as “gutter politics” and at least one state senator referred to me as a “bomb thrower” I like the fact the NJGOP Chairman is willing to throw a punch, or in this case, a jab. It’s been a while since seeing an aggressive NJGOP chair.

When it comes to Elizabeth Warren those of us on the right side of the political spectrum have lots of issues with her, too many to list here. President Trump has a nickname for her.

The president’s nickname for Warren got me thinking. If Elizabeth Warren is a Native-American as she has claimed since the 1980s then why is there a woman, Deb Haaland, in New Mexico running for congress with the press proclaiming she will be the first Native-American woman elected to Congress?

Dictionary.com defines congress as “the national legislative body of the U.S., consisting of the Senate, or upper house, and the House of Representatives, or lower house, as a continuous institution.” That’s the same thing I learned in grade school and on Saturday mornings watching cartoons on TV.

If Elizabeth Warren is telling the truth and is indeed a Native-American does that mean the press is lying about Deb Haaland? Haaland would be the second. Maybe Elizabeth Warren is lying? Then, Haaland would be the first.

The thing is it appears Deb Haaland doesn’t know if Elizabeth Warren is telling the truth, not according to her public statements. If a Native-American like Haaland who actually is a member of a tribe doesn’t know if Warren is honest, who does.

Haaland told the Huffington Post about President Trump’s use of Pocahontas’s name in his taunts directed at Warren, “My point in defending Elizabeth Warren is it’s not up to him. It’s not up to him,” and, “He doesn’t get to decide who is Indian and who is not Indian.”

Either the press has to stop hyping up the possibility of Deb Haaland as the first Native-American woman elected to Congress or find out if Elizabeth Warren has been lying since the 1980s.

Why I Put The South Jersey Times In The Bottom Of Pete the Parrot’s Cage

"Pete the Parrot"

"Pete the Parrot"

The South Jersey Times has managed to again prove why the paper is only good for the bottom of a bird cage. For whatever reason the South Jersey Times Editorial Board just couldn’t let the Dennis and Judi thing go – the Editorial Board felt compelled to run a piece on the opinion page titled, “If you can't show respect, drop the radio mic.”

The radio duo apologized and have been punished with a 10 day suspension. This should be over, but not for the South Jersey Times. The Editorial Board just had to fan the flames with more than 500 words.

In the opinion piece the editorial board claims, “It's not so bad that Malloy called Grewal ‘the man with the turban,’ and that both hosts repeatedly referred to him as ‘turban man.’” I agree. Unfortunately, prior to that line the editorial board argues, “Before jabbering about the ‘PC police’ and giving ‘Dennis and Judi’ excessive latitude to claim that they're doing ‘comedy,’ let's analyze this.”

Analyze it? Are they psychiatrists? The people on this editorial board aren’t qualified to analyze what is in the minds of people. But, I digress, that’s really not my issue with their opinion piece.

My issue is simple, this editorial board isn’t upset over what I assume was two people kidding around. Two people who are paid to entertain. They’re upset with anyone that doesn’t think like them, anyone that doesn’t have at least some left or leftish leanings.

Of course, my claim isn’t very scientific. I simply scrolled through their list of editorials, I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled. The only Republican they praised with regularity was Congressman LoBiondo, a moderate.

But, back to the Dennis and Judi thing. The story is over, yet this editorial board HAD to write something.

Could I find anything written by this editorial board about Michelle Wolf and her verbal assault of Sarah Huckabee Sanders at the White House correspondents’ dinner? No!

Did this editorial board have anything to say about Wolf going after Huckabee Sanders again on the Netflix talk show “The Break?” No!

Did this editorial board say anything when Kathy Griffin posted a photo of her holding a replica of President Trump's bloodied, decapitated head? Not that I could find!

Are you getting the theme here?

The South Jersey Times editorial board has obvious leanings toward the left of the political spectrum. They want their readers to think like them.

For the record, I don’t have a problem with Michelle Wolf or Kathy Griffin. They’re comedians, I don’t find them funny so I don’t watch or listen to them, others do. I have never advocated for either of them to be punished for the actions described above.

I also don’t care what professional football players do, I still pay for NFL Sunday Ticket (or whatever it’s called) every year because I like to watch the football games I want to watch. I would prefer football players stand for the national anthem but I’m not going to stop watching because they’re disrespectful.

This is America and we all have the right to freedom of speech and expression. What this means is that we also all have the right to not read or listen to those exercising their rights if we don’t like what they’re saying. (For the record I do have an issue with flag burning but I’ll save that for another day).

When it comes to the South Jersey Times I exercise my freedom of expression by putting their rag of a newspaper in the bottom of Pete the Parrot’s cage.

Grossman Continues To Gain Support And An Autograph Seeker

Grossman HS.jpg

According to the New Jersey Globe 2nd District State Senator Chris Brown “isn’t dumping Seth Grossman.” The New Jersey Globe reports, “Brown said on Thursday that he supports the Republican nominee.”

Senator Brown, unlike some wishy-washy Republicans, gets it. Seth Grossman won the primary, therefore he is the Republican candidate. Sam Fiocchi and Hirsh Singh both were in the primary to the end and offered statements of support after the election.

Maybe our fellow Republicans can learn from Sen. Brown, Fiocchi and Singh.

In another example that Grossman continues to gain support, something happened at last night’s Atlantic County Young Republicans meeting. A woman Bob nor I had ever seen at a GOP function showed up at the meeting late last night, as Seth Grossman was speaking. She came to the front of the room, pulled out her phone and got very close to Seth, almost uncomfortably close, filming him or maybe just taking pictures, and when he finished she asked him for his autograph.

So, strangers are now asking Grossman for his autograph. His support is growing.
