It’s A Norcross Trifecta!

A year ahead of his next primary election and a year-and-a-half before his next general election matchup Democrat Congressman Donald Norcross is getting a $2,900 a head fundraiser.

That’s right! The undisputed political boss of South Jersey, “George E. Norcross, III and Philip A. Norcross cordially invite you to join them in honoring United States Representative Donald W. Norcross.”

For $2,900 bucks I would expect, at the very least, a good steak. I doubt attendees are going to get a steak, or any meal, because the event is being held outside, on the terrace at noon. So, $2,900 finger food. Must be some awesome hors d'oeuvres!

The event’s special guest is House Majority Leader Congressman Steny Hoyer. This is a guy who can raise some money!

Maybe, just maybe, Hoyer on his travel from Maryland to Tavistock will look out the car window and take notice of the area where the retaining wall at the I-295 Direct Connection project collapsed. And, considering Donald Norcross has been taking credit for getting this project going since his days in the state legislature, Hoyer might talk Norcross into kicking some of the money raised at the event back to the state to pay for the repairs.

But since we all know there is no way any of the insane amount of money that gets raised May 24th at Tavistock will help pay to repair the collapsed wall maybe this event will motivate Republicans to donate to local candidates.

Folks, this is Jersey, Republicans are in the minority, which makes it tough to raise money. For us, these $2,900 a head fundraisers are few and far between. As such, we aren’t going to match the Democrats dollar-for-dollar, but we can raise enough to compete – at least enough to help our candidates get their messages out. Palm cards, mailers, signs, they all cost money!

Hopefully, the Norcross brothers raising $2,900 a person for the other Norcross a year and a half before his next general election is enough to motivate everyone to kick-in a little bit to our candidates.
