US Senate Candidate Begs For Letters Of Support; Is The Singh Campaign Getting Desperate?

It’s time to face reality. And the reality that is hard for some to face is that the Republican primary for US Senate is a two-man race between biotech entrepreneur, frontrunner Rik Mehta and former beauty pageant winner Hirsh Singh.

I get it! I’ve been around politics long enough to know campaigns recruit supporters to write letters to the editor supporting their candidate. I know some campaigns that have gone so far as to write the letters and find volunteers willing to sign them. It’s a common practice and that’s fine.

What I have never seen is a candidate get on social media to beg people to write letters and actually admit they need to “increase our name recognition.” That’s exactly what Singh is doing. Begging for folks to write letters to the editor:

Not only is Singh begging supporters to send letters, he’s encouraging them to stay on the editors to ensure the letters get published. And, the writers should be “self motivated and initiate the letter.” If they were self-motivated they would be doing this without Singh going on social media and begging them to do it.

Maybe I’m a little jaded because I recently had to warn a Singh troll to stop posting on our Facebook page the same old, tired, ridiculous attacks against Mehta, you know more of the same old RINO bullshit.

Or maybe the reason Singh is on social media begging people to write letters to the editor is that I was right when I wrote, “the Singh campaign has a “net value” of ($18,773). NEGATIVE $18,773!”

Perhaps having a campaign organization with a lower net value than long-shot social media campaigner Tricia Flanagan has driven Singh to take a page out of her book and he’s trying to become a social media campaigner too. That’s not going to work, Flanagan already occupies the “Donald Trump could do it, so can I lane.” Newsflash to both: neither of you are Donald Trump!

It’s not like this race is hard to handicap. Mehta is the only candidate with enough real money in the bank to get his message out to the voters and he has the majority of the county lines. The four lines Singh won are easily offset by what Mehta has. The pathetic begging for letters to the editor is just another sign Singh doesn’t have the money to compete. And all the social media in the world isn’t going to convince enough primary election voters that the same old, tired, ridiculous attacks against Mehta and the same old RINO bullshit are anywhere near true, which they aren’t.

Hold on to your seats, there are going to be many more acts of desperation between now and July 7.

PRESS RELEASE: CCGOP Chair Wants Investigation Pre-Checked VBM Applications

Rich Ambrosino

Camden County Republican Chairman Rich Ambrosino is backing up an argument made last week by the organization’s county-wide candidates, that the County Clerk was wrong to send pre-checked VBM applications. The chairman’s press release on the matter follows:

Camden County Republican Chairman Rich Ambrosino added his voice to the organization’s county-wide candidates’ complaint about the County Clerk’s office mailing of pre-checked vote-by-mail applications.

After learning the County Clerk’s office mailed applications for vote-by-mail ballots to all registered voters in Camden County with “ALL FUTURE ELECTIONS, until I request otherwise in writing” pre-marked with a red check Camden County Republican candidate for Surrogate, Kimberley Stuart and candidates for Freeholders Nicole Nance, Jennifer Moore and Johanna Scheets asked if the Camden County Clerk’s office mailing of pre-checked vote-by-mail applications was a way to stuff the ballot boxes come November.

“For nearly a month, before the Governor issued the Vote-by-Mail executive order, I have been fielding phone calls from voters asking what they should do with VBM applications they received that already have ‘all future elections’ checked,” CCGOP Chairman Rich Ambrosino said. “Many of these callers understand they’re going to have to cast their ballot via vote-by-mail for the upcoming primary, but they do not want to vote in all future elections by mail.”

“What really concerns me is that someone in the Clerk’s office assumed voters would want to vote in all future elections by mail, even voters who have never in their lives voted by mail.” Ambrosino continued. “An example is one of our former Assembly candidates who has never voted by mail received a VBM application pre-checked. He was not happy!”

Ambrosino asked, “Where else in the country would it be acceptable to simply assume voters who have never voted by mail would suddenly decide to vote by mail in every future election?”

“Only in Camden County could something like this happen without anyone questioning it.” Ambrosino explained, “Given the registration advantage Democrats have in Camden County it’s obvious why they would want to attempt to stuff the ballot boxes. It had nothing to do with an executive order that did not yet exist and it has nothing to do with making voting easier; it has everything to do with defeating President Trump. It’s exactly the kind of thing that happens when you live in a county run by a Democrat political cartel.”

“It’s time the State Division of Elections launches an investigation, determines how many voters have inadvertently signed up to vote in all future elections by mail and rectify the problem,” Ambrosino said. “Our candidates may have been right when they suggested the remedy is to re-send unchecked applications to every voter who returned the pre-checked applications, allowing individual voters to decide in which elections they wish to vote-by-mail. Doing nothing just adds to the perception that we live in a corrupt county.”

PRESS RELEASE: Governor’s Endorsement Of Biden Should Be Deemed Unacceptable

Press Release.jpg

Republican candidate for Congress in CD1, Claire Gustafson, said today that if Phil Murphy and Donald Norcross “aren’t willing to withdraw their endorsement of Biden then they should heed the advice Murphy offered Kavanaugh and pack their bags and leave.” Her press release follows:

Claire Gustafson, Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s first congressional district, said today that “Governor Phil Murphy should have applied the same standard to Tara Reade’s allegation of sexual assault by former Vice President Joe Biden as he did Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation against Justice Brett Kavanaugh.”

“During Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings Governor Murphy, in a tweet, said of Christine Blasey Ford, ‘The presumption that she is not telling the truth is unacceptable, and it should deeply anger us all,’” Claire Gustafson said. “Yet, by endorsing Joe Biden yesterday, Governor Murphy presumes Tara Reade is not telling the truth. By the Governor’s own standards his endorsement of Biden should be deemed unacceptable.”

Gustafson continued, “Murphy wanted a federal investigation into the claims against Kavanaugh. Why isn’t he calling for an investigation into the claims against Biden? His endorsement of Biden shows Murphy doesn’t care what Tara Reade has to say.”

“Earlier this week I called on Congressman Donald Norcross to withdraw his endorsement of Joe Biden, Governor Murphy should do the same.” Gustafson said, “As long as the possibility exists that Tara Reade’s allegation of sexual assault by Joe Biden is true it should deeply anger all of us that Murphy and Norcross choose to endorse his candidacy. If they aren’t willing to withdraw their endorsement of Biden then they should heed the advice Murphy offered Kavanaugh and pack their bags and leave.”
