Republican candidate for Congress in CD2 Brian Fitzherbert announced the endorsement of Ventnor Mayor Beth Holtzman. The Fitzherbert campaign press release follows:

Egg Harbor Township –Brian T. Fitzherbert, who is seeking the Republican nomination in New Jersey’s Second Congressional District, announced the endorsement of Ventnor Mayor, Beth Holtzman.

Mayor Holtzman voiced her support saying, "I have had the pleasure of getting to know Brian through his work within our community. He will fight to keep South Jersey the place we know and love. A place where our parents, children and grandchildren can not only afford to live but thrive.  Brian will fight to build our unique economy through job creation, lower taxes and less burdensome regulations that cripple small businesses. That is why I am happy to endorse my friend and fellow Atlantic County resident Brian Fitzherbert for Congress.”

“I am humbled to receive the endorsement of Mayor Holtzman. I’m grateful to have her support and look forward to working with Beth in Ventnor as we fight to win back the House of Representatives in 2020,” Fitzherbert said.

Where’s Their Outrage Now?

Remember that time Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, Assemblywoman Patricia Egan Jones, and Camden County Freeholders Carmen Rodriguez and Susan Shin-Angulo were “outraged” when then U.S. Senate candidate Bob Hugin was “silent as allegations of sexual assault mount against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh?”

At the time, Camden County Republicans wanted to know why Lampitt, Egan Jones, Rodriguez and Shin-Angulo weren’t outraged over then Assemblyman Arthur Barclay admitting to punching his girlfriend.

Here we are more than a year later and these same women, Lampitt up for re-election, Rodriguez up for re-election and Shin-Angulo running for Mayor in Cherry Hill all remain silent that former Assemblyman Arthur Barclay, who admitted to punching his girlfriend during a domestic incident, still has a $60,000-a-year job with Camden County. (I didn’t mention Egan Jones because she’s decided not to run for re-election).

Over a year ago these South Jersey “women leaders” were outraged a man was silent about allegations of mistreatment of women. Today, they’re silent about a man who actually admitted to violence toward a woman who still has a job with the government run by the same political machine that helped them get elected. These women aren’t leaders – they’re hypocrites.

But, hypocrites or not, what will the “progressive” Democrats do? Will they vote for them anyway? Will the “progressive” Democrats in Camden County continue to be part of the problem and do as they’ve always done and vote for the machine Democrats on Election Day?

It’s time for the “progressive” Democrats to step up and show their outrage. Let’s see if they do.

PRESS RELEASE: Who Served On Committee That Found Barclay “Fit” For An Appointment

Camden County Republican Chairman Rich Ambrosino isn’t letting the Arthur Barclay situation die. Today, via press release, he asked who reviewed Barclay’s credentials before putting is name up for an appointment in Camden City. Ambrosino’s press release on the matter follows:

HADDON HEIGHTS – Camden County Republican Chairman Rich Ambrosino congratulated Camden’s City Council for pulling a resolution appointing former Assemblyman Arthur Barclay as a commissioner on the city’s parking authority prior to last week’s council meeting.

CCGOP Chairman Rich Ambrosino said, “While I congratulate Camden City Council for doing the right thing, there is no doubt Mr. Barclay’s name should have never been submitted for consideration for an appointment to the parking authority. The fact he was even considered leaves some unanswered questions.”

“A municipal appointment committee reviewed Barclay’s credentials. Who served on this committee?” Ambrosino asked, “It was reported that the committee was ‘satisfied as to his fitness’ who determined Barclay’s fitness?”

“City government has to answer these questions and county government still needs to explain how Barclay still has a job,” Ambrosino said. “No doubt, if Barclay were a Republican, Camden County machine Democrats would be demanding his resignation at the mere accusation of punching a woman, much less admitting it as Barclay did.”

“No longer are Camden County Democrats getting free passes on anything, from Barclay’s resignation last year and the fact he somehow still has a county job, to the scandal involving former Haddon Township Commissioner Paul Dougherty and the resignation of Gloucester Township Board of Education member Brian Dougherty, we’re exposing them for all their misdeeds,” Ambrosino said. “Camden County Republicans are reenergized and ready to take the fight to the machine. If exposing the misdeeds of machine politicians is what it’s going to take to win elections again, that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
