In a press release distributed last evening NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt ripped Democrats for the “ethical void among” them. The release speaks for itself:

NJGOP Chairman: Corruption Flu Is Contagious And Spreading Among NJ Democrats

Josh Welle Falsified A Financial Disclosure Report

Trenton, NJ - New Jersey Democrats are developing a consistent pattern of running into ethics issues in the 2018 election cycle.

Earlier this year, Senator Bob Menendez was severely admonished by a bi-partisan Senate Ethics Committee for his corrupt and unethical behavior.

Just yesterday, Governor Phil Murphy doubled down and defended the illegal hiring of a former elected official who was convicted of taking $26,000 in bribes.

Congressional candidates Andy Kim and Tom Malinowski have each taken illegal tax breaks for their Washington D.C. homes, while they run for office in New Jersey.

The Burlington County Democratic organization stood by candidate George Youngkin even after it was revealed that he was arrested for assaulting his wife and harassing another woman.

And now, according to a report,  New Jersey Congressional District 4 Democrat challenger Josh Welle falsified a financial disclosure report. Welle owes $130,424.14 in delinquent taxes to the State of Delaware for a business that he co-founded in 2015. He wrongfully reported on his Financial Disclosure Statement filed with the Clerk House of Representatives that the company was dissolved.

"There is an ethical void among New Jersey Democrats," said NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt. "It starts all the way at the top with corrupt Senator Bob Menendez and Governor Phil Murphy and trickles all the way down. Bob Menendez is patient zero of the corruption flu and he's coughing all over candidates like Josh Welle."

Flawed Politicians, Is There Something In The Water In Camden County?

Four flawed Camden County politicians

Four flawed Camden County politicians

What do former Assemblyman Arthur Barclay, Haddon Township Commissioner Paul Dougherty, Voorhees Township Deputy Mayor Jason Ravitz and freeholder candidate Vincent Squire have in common? One would guess, given the admittedly partisan slant of this blog, the answer is all are Democrats and that would be untrue. Squire is a Republican. Despite popular belief, at The Bob & Steve Show, we do call out Republicans when they are wrong.

What these four have in common is they are all Camden County politicians who have had some sort of “issue” with law enforcement within the past year. Every single one of these men are likely to make the first annual Bob & Steve Show Naughty and Nice List coming in December.

Barclay, you may recall, was arrested on assault charges and eventually resigned.

Dougherty was involved in a hit and run accident and Haddon Township residents have alleged he was seen drinking at a Township sponsored event.

Ravitz, thanks to the great David Wildstein at the New Jersey Globe, we have learned has had at least two incidents involving drinking and local police. The first incident at Ott’s Tavern and the second at an Applebee’s. I quit drinking over two years ago and was no stranger to a bar fight, but seriously, who the hell gets into a bar fight at Applebee’s? Not even I was that big an ass!

Last on the list is Squire who was disavowed by the Camden County Republican Party after it was learned he has a current second-degree assault charge filed against him by his own son, which is pending in Superior Court.

Three Democrats and one Republican politician, all from Camden County with “issues” with law enforcement in Camden County. There is one big difference in how these politicians’ respective parties have handled the “issues.”

Camden County Republicans, upon learning of their candidate’s flaws, asked Squire to drop out of the race, when he refused Republicans publicly disavowed him.

Camden County Democrats appear to be fine with their flawed candidates. The Barclay incident was kept hidden from the public for 11 days. Democrats didn’t utter a word about the incident until he resigned and it’s been reported he still has a $60,000/year county job. The Dougherty incident was kept quiet for two weeks. Finally, there are the two incidents involving Ravitz, one from August 2017 and one earlier this year. Not a peep from county Democrats.

One thing that is obvious is that in Camden County Republicans are willing to clean their own house, in public if it comes to it, the Democrats, no so much. It’s as if Democrats in that county circle the wagons around their flawed politicians.

Maybe Camden County Democrats could learn by the example of CCGOP Chairman Rich Ambrosino and do some internal house cleaning. If they don’t state Senator Jim Beach, the county’s Democratic party chairman might join these four flawed candidate on The Bob & Steve Show’s Naughty and Nice List in December.

PRESS RELEASE: NJGOP Chairman Reacts To Murphy Economic Speech

Today, NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt issued a response to Governor Phil Murphy’s “economic speech.”

NJGOP Chairman Reacts To Murphy Economic Speech

Trenton, NJ - Yesterday, Governor Phil Murphy gave a speech regarding his plan for economic development for the state of New Jersey. NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt released the following statement in response:

"Your doctor is supposed to tell you to lose a few pounds.  Your waiter is supposed to show you the desert menu. New Jersey needs to hit the treadmill and, as Governor, Phil Murphy needs to write the prescription. Instead, he's been serving up by the millions slices of state government pie.

"There’s nothing wrong with wanting to make New Jersey fairer or stronger. But, no recipe for what ails this State includes economic policies that continue to punish New Jersey’s families and businesses.

“Any serious conversation about economic growth in New Jersey must start with cutting taxes and shrinking government. After Murphy’s 2018 budget, New Jersey actually sank farther, to 50th in corporate tax and 48th in personal tax friendliness. Overall, we rank last, 50th out of 50 states, for tax climate.

"Yesterday, Governor Murphy made twenty two empty promises. Businesses make decisions based on dollars and cents, not political nonsense. Murphy’s presser produced lots of sound bytes and I’m sure there are people who believe them, because they’re what they want to hear. But, that isn’t leading, it’s pandering. They’re a chimera. They aren’t real.

"New Jersey is the Mars of a national, economic solar system.  It’s cold and inhospitable here, and Murphy’s litany of tax and spend promises do nothing to move the needle for New Jersey’s already struggling families and businesses.  It’s one thing to promise more jobs and higher wages, but when your economic policies strangle the very businesses needed to support them, they’re empty promises and we’re weaker and poorer for them.  You can’t raise taxes by billions and saddle business with excessive regulations and mandates and expect them to grow. The burden is just too great.

“Seeking outside investment is a novel approach, but not even Wall Street will invest in a State where over taxation and over regulation thrive. While two plus two might equal six at Goldman Sachs, back home in New Jersey it still equals four, and Murphy’s plan simply doesn’t add up."
