Here We Go With The Driver’s Licenses For Illegals Stuff Again

Driver-licence.jpg

Scanning the morning news, looking for something to blog about I came across this little gem courtesy of the press releases posted on InsiderNJ. From the release:

On Sunday, immigrant families are calling to expanding access for drivers licenses in New Jersey. After years of fighting, it’s time for the state legislature to pass drivers licenses for all qualified drivers, regardless of immigration status. For too many winters, families have had to walk through the snow to wait for the bus, pick up their children from school, and go to doctor’s appointments.

I’ve blogged in the past about the problems in states where illegal aliens have been granted driver’s licenses. I’ve written about criminals inventing new crimes in some states that allow illegal aliens to get driver’s licenses.

Never mind that rewarding people for breaking the law is a bad idea. What makes folks supporting the idea of giving illegal immigrants driver’s licenses that the same crimes won’t happen here?

In the release the author writes, “This summer, New York became the 14th state to pass driver’s license for all. Connecticut and thirteen other states have also taken this step. New Jersey is stuck behind…”

Exactly how is New Jersey “stuck behind?” 14 is less than half the states, meaning New Jersey is in the majority. New Jersey, by not allowing illegal aliens to obtain driver’s license, is with the majority of states, obviously not “stuck behind.”

This nonsense has to stop. Call your legislators and tell them not to reward bad behavior. And, come election time, vote only for candidates who wan to enforce our immigration laws.

PRESS RELEASE: It Didn’t Take Long For Josh Duvall To Break Reagan’s 11th Commandment

Press Release.jpg

It looks like sparks are already starting to fly in CD1 and one of the combatants is still exploring the possibility of getting into the race. Back on November 12th Republican Claire Gustafson issued a statement announcing she is exploring the possibility of getting into the CD1 race. Yesterday, announced GOP candidate Josh Duvall issued a statement taking issue with some of what Gustafson said (I double checked my personal and the radio show’s email accounts, we did not get Duvall’s statement, unless it’s sitting in the SPAM folder). This morning, Gustafson responded to Duvall’s remarks of yesterday. Her press release follows:

COLLINGSWOOD – On November 12 Republican Claire Gustafson announced she formed an exploratory committee to gauge interest and support into a possible candidacy for Congress in CD1.

Announced Republican candidate for Congress in CD1, Josh Duvall, took issue with the fact Gustafson said, “Republicans I’ve talked with don’t want a wishy-washy middle-of-the-road nominee pandering for Democrat votes.” Duvall said in a statement, “She labeled me as ‘wishy-washy’, ‘pandering’, weak on pro-life issues and the Second Amendment.”

“I don’t know why Josh Duvall would think I was speaking of him,” Claire Gustafson said. “There have been rumors out there for months that a realtor out of Washington Township is considering running for Congress. The fact is I merely stated what Republicans have said to me, that they don’t want a wishy-washy middle-of-the-road nominee pandering for Democrat votes.”

Greenwich Township Mayor George W. Shivery, Jr. said, “Claire Gustafson has a solid reputation and has stepped up for the Republican Party many times over the years. If history has taught us anything Claire Gustafson would have mentioned Josh Duvall by name if she were talking about him. Duvall should apologize for this unprovoked attack.”

“I found Josh’s remark that he was disgusted with ‘partisan politics’ odd considering if I decide to make my candidacy official we will be running in a partisan primary election,” Gustafson said. “The very nature of primary elections are partisan, filing as a Republican is a partisan act. Seriously, who performs an act that disgusts them?”

“Obviously it upsets Josh that I’m considering getting into this race,” Gustafson said. “I’ve met Josh, I like Josh, he’s a nice young man. Unfortunately, he’s just a little inexperienced. Whatever the case, when I issued my statement I was careful to honor Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment and did not speak ill of any fellow Republican. Josh Duvall violated that Commandment.”

Note: To be completely transparent with our readers and listeners, Claire Gustafson is a personal friend, former client and if she chooses to get into the race will likely be a client again.
