Republican candidate for state Senate in LD1, former Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi, called out state Senator Bob Andrzejczak for failing to fight against the minimum wage increase. Fiocchi’s press release follows:

Andrzejczak Gets A Free Pass On Minimum Wage

State Senator took a page out of the Jeff Van Drew playbook

VINELAND – Republican candidate for state Senate in the first legislative district, former Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi, congratulated state Senator Bob Andrzejczak on getting a free pass on the minimum wage bill yesterday.

“Bob Andrzejczak took a page from the old Jeff Van Drew playbook yesterday,” Sam Fiocchi said. “He was given a free pass and voted no on the minimum wage bill yesterday, which of course gives him the ability to claim he did what his district wanted.”

Fiocchi continued, “That argument would be believable if he had displayed the kind of leadership state Senator Vin Gopal did. Senator Gopal at least spoke out against the bill in the weeks leading up to the vote and last year offered a compromise that, while increasing the minimum wage, wasn’t as drastic as making it $15 per hour. Never once did Andrzejczak make a public argument against the bill or the negative effects this bill will have on seasonal businesses in our district. Simply voting no, without putting up a fight for our district isn’t enough.”

Fiocchi asked, “Where was Andrzejczak in the weeks leading up to this vote? Why did he not join his fellow Democrat Senator Gopal in arguing for common sense?”

“South Jersey deserves a senator willing to stand up and take a public stance on the issues of the day,” Fiocchi said. “Voting no because your party had enough votes is not leadership. Bob Andrzejczak’s silence on the issue leading up to the vote tells me, and should tell the voters of this district, that if his party needed a yes he would have been there for his party. South Jersey deserves better!”

Thanks Cory Booker, Now We’ll Have Something To Talk About On Slow News Days

Cory Booker

Cory Booker

I admit it, sometimes we skip a day blogging at The Bob & Steve Show, usually it’s because of a slow news day. Thanks to the fact Cory Booker has announced he is running for President of the United States we will likely have fewer days where we skip blogging because we are sure Booker will say plenty of dumb stuff.

Remember the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation fiasco? You know, when Booker said, “I appeal to be recognized on your sense of decency and integrity…” and continuing to talk completely ignoring the fact he was ruled out of order again. So much for integrity and decency.

Or how about the time Booker said that, “We need to stop the bullshit partisanship in this country.” Never mind that at the time, according to ProgressivePunch Cory Booker had an overall progressive score of 97.86%, higher than Bernie Sanders.

Booker obviously didn’t follow his own advice about stopping the partisanship in this country given the fact he called for an end to partisanship long before the Kavanaugh confirmation process.

They are only two examples of Booker being kind enough to give us something to write and talk about. So, thanks for running for president Mr. Booker, I have a feeling you’re going to be good for The Bob & Steve Show.

U.S. Rep Bonnie Watson Coleman Is At It Again

Bonnie Watson Coleman

Bonnie Watson Coleman

Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman was an early subject of The Bob & Steve Show, her bill to provide free tampons in public restrooms was a topic in our first two radio shows.

According to a press release issued by the Congresswoman yesterday she has invited Victorina Morales to attend President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. From the press release:

Today, Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, invited Victorina Morales, a resident of Bound Brook, NJ, to join the Congresswoman as her guest at the President’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday, February 5. Morales, an undocumented immigrant, was fired from the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ, and has since campaigned for rights and fair treatment for undocumented immigrants.

Morales is an illegal immigrant, “undocumented immigrant” for those on the left, and former employee of Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, a job she got using “documents she said were phony.”

In other words, Bonnie Watson Coleman has decided to invite a person who knowingly broke two laws, entering the country illegally and obtaining forged documents, to the State of the Union address.

But, what really gets me is that in her press release Watson Coleman said, “Immigrants by and large are hardworking, trustworthy, and skilled people who simply want to work and build better lives here.”

Yes, she seriously said people who sneak into the country illegally and then fraudulently obtain phony documents to work are trustworthy. I don’t know about you, but I would hardly call a person who willingly breaks the law trustworthy.

Watson Coleman ends her press release with this gem:

I hope that in his State of the Union address, Donald Trump will finally acknowledge the real face of immigrants in this country — women and children fleeing violence, law-abiding, tax-paying people who would do almost anything to be Americans. And if he can’t, I’ve invited Victorina so that he may look her in her eyes to tell his lies to a familiar face.”

While I am fairly certain there are immigrants in the country who fit Watson Coleman’s description, I promise you (and her) I can introduce the Congresswoman to folks living along the border with Mexico who have had many incidents with illegal immigrants, break-ins, stolen property, damaged property, and in some cases worse.

Does Bonnie Watson Coleman care about any of these folks? The answer is no. Watson Coleman would rather tell her lies that every person coming across the border is coming for good because she opposes a barrier along the border in places it makes sense for no reason other than President Trump wants it.
