Democratic Sheriff Candidate’s Campaign Sign Spotted Near Confederate Battle Flag. Same Candidate Was Once Accused Of Beating Black Inmate.

Just when I thought I was done writing about the Salem County Sheriff race, a Gant for Sheriff sign is spotted only feet away from the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia.

As you can see in the photo the Gant for Sheriff sign and the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia are proudly displayed on a well-kept property. The property happens to be in the same town in which Gant lives.

I get it, Gant supporters are going to argue that he didn’t put the sign near that flag. But could you imagine if it were a Republican candidate’s sign near that flag? It would be national news!

This is interesting because, as regular readers of The Bob & Steve Show blog know, it was a post on social media by a guy named Walter Hudson, who obviously doesn’t like cops, that led to some digging into the background of Democratic sheriff candidate Bob Gant.

That digging led to my interview of Bunyan Mills. Mills did not hesitate when I asked if the rumor he was assaulted by Gant was true. He quickly said, “yes.” Mills said Gant beat him unconscious.

I spent a total of 29 minutes and 26 seconds on the phone with Mills. I believe him. If I didn’t believe him I would have never written the piece nor would I have invited him on our radio show. Unfortunately, I was in the hospital for last week’s show, so he didn’t call. If Mills calls in tomorrow you will hear the sincerity in his voice, just as I did.

In our last post about the Salem County Sheriff election readers were provided with a court document that clearly states Gant agreed not to seek re-employment with the County. I am not saying it proves Mills was beaten unconscious by Gant, but I am saying that at the very least it demonstrates Gant was no angel.

Maybe, just maybe, Walter Hudson was onto something when he wrote, “Over the years Gant have not been fair to black people.” Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. It’s now up to Salem County voters to decide.

PRESS RELEASE: Camden City Residents Should Have The Right To Elect Their School Board

Press Release.jpg

Republican candidate for Assembly in the 5th District, Nick Kush, came out in support of the voters in Camden who want the right to elect their own school board this morning. The press release follows:

Camden City Residents Should Have The Right To Elect Their School Board

Kush: “I side with the parents who want to take an active role in the education of their children.”

RUNNEMEDE – Republican candidate for Assembly in the 5th District, Nick Kush, weighed in on a ballot question in the City of Camden today.

The ballot question, “Shall the Camden City Board of Education remain a Type 1 school district with the Board of Education members appointed by the Mayor of the City of Camden,” has become a contentious issue with many city residents. A “yes” vote “will result in members of the Camden City Board of Education being appointed by the Mayor, as is the current practice.”

“When I agreed to put my name on the ballot I was told winning is a long shot, but you can’t win without trying, so I’ve been meeting voters everywhere, including Camden,” Nick Kush said. “I was talking with one lady and she explained to me the mayor sent a letter to voters asking them to vote to allow him to keep appointing members of their school board.”

“As a father who has had five kids go through public schools, a grandson go through public school and several other grandchildren currently attending public schools, I know and understand the importance of having parents involved in the education of our kids.” Kush continued, “Having one person choose who serves on the school board is nuts. Electing your school board is the first step in parental involvement in education, it gives people who otherwise wouldn’t be interested a reason to be interested.”

“I stand with the parents in Camden who are fighting for the right to elect their school board and applaud them for wanting to take an active role in the education of their kids,” Kush said. “It’s a pretty safe bet the other guy running for Assembly is siding with the mayor on this, they’re in the same party and served on Camden’s council together. Me, I side with the parents who want to take an active role in the education of their children, something I’ll always do if I’m fortunate enough to be elected.”

Menendez’s Lawyers Argued It Isn’t A Federal Crime To Leave The Country For Sex With Under Aged Hookers. Does He Agree?

Bob Menendez

Bob Menendez

The mainstream press that covers New Jersey politics – the same press that has continued to let Governor Phil Murphy off the hook for the horrible treatment of the women on his soccer team – the same press that hasn’t written a word about a guy running for sheriff who allegedly once beat up an inmate (I found the inmate’s phone number, I’m sure they could too) keeps writing about Republican candidate for Senate Bob Hugin’s ads referencing Bob Menendez’s alleged involvement with under aged prostitutes with the word “unproven.”

I am sick of it! Almost as sick of hearing the idiots who believe Menendez was found to be not guilty. A hung jury does not make him innocent.

Maybe Menendez’s alleged involvement with under aged prostitutes is “unproven,” but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

In court papers Menendez’s own lawyers argued messing around with underaged hookers in the Dominican Republic “would hardly be a federal crime even had it been true.”

Copied and pasted directly from the court papers:

The defendants present their case as exceptional because the allegations of underage prostitution are “such easily disprovable allegations about something that would hardly be a federal crime even had it been true.”

“Would hardly be a federal crime even had it been true.”  It is a federal crime to leave the country to have sex with under aged hookers, no matter what Menendez’s lawyers argued.

Menendez has never once said publicly if he agrees with the argument of his lawyers.

And let’s not forget “The Independent,” a British online newspaper once wrote:

The Daily Caller suggested last night that the Washington Post had erred because the prostitute now denying having had sex with the senator was not the prostitute in its original report last year. The Post stood by its reporting.

It appears the Menendez camp couldn’t even find the right hooker to recant the original story.

While it may be accurate for the press to continue to refer to Menendez’s alleged involvement with under aged prostitutes with the word “unproven,” based on his own lawyers’ argument and the reporting of The Independent it is possible the allegations were true.

So, “unproven” or not it appears Menendez still has some explaining to do. He should at least tell voters if he agrees with his lawyers that it is okay to travel to a foreign land to have sex with under aged prostitutes.
