PRESS RELEASE: Gustafson Thrilled To Learn Pelosi Is Coming To Support Norcross

Republican candidate for Congress in CD1, Claire Gustafson, is “thrilled" Nancy Pelosi is coming to support Donald Norcross. Her campaign’s press release follows:

Claire Gustafson, Republican candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s first congressional district, said she was “thrilled” to learn Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi is coming to Camden County to support Congressman Donald Norcross next month.

“Nancy Pelosi coming to Camden County to support Donald Norcross is a near perfect illustration of the differences I have with Congressman Norcross,” Claire Gustafson said. “Pelosi and Norcross support sanctuary states, abortion on demand, a sham impeachment and continually attack the Second Amendment. In Congress I’ll say no to sanctuary states, no to abortion as a form of birth control, no to this impeachment nonsense and no to the assault on our Second Amendment.”

“I found it almost laughable that in one report it was said that, ‘Congressman Norcross is a key member of Speaker Pelosi’s leadership team and is widely recognized for his leadership on job creation.’” Gustafson added, “It was Norcross who, February 2014 when he first ran for Congress, proudly proclaimed he ‘led the charge on getting the Economic Opportunity Act passed into law’ and promised it was ‘a game-changing law that will help create thousands of jobs in our region.’”

Gustafson asked, “If Congressman Norcross is such a leader on job creation where are the thousands of jobs he promised nearly six years ago?”

“Perhaps Pelosi or Norcross will explain why he now downplays his role in getting the Economic Opportunity Act passed.” Gustafson said, “I’ll be looking forward to the Congresswoman’s visit and hope we finally learn where the thousands of jobs Mr. Norcross promised.”

Brian Fitzherbert has ended his campaign in CD2. The campaign’s press release follows:

Brian T. Fitzherbert, who was seeking the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s Second Congressional District, today announced that he has suspended his campaign.

“Seven months ago, I announced my campaign for Congress to be a citizen representative and use my background in the defense industry to bring much needed year-round jobs and economic development to South Jersey,” Fitzherbert said. “However, I have decided to suspend my campaign and follow President Trump’s lead in supporting Congressman Van Drew for re-election. I am also calling upon the other Republican candidates and those who have supported me to do the same so that our party can move forward united and build upon South Jersey’s success last November. It is essential that we unite as a party and fight together to ensure we re-elect President Trump in 2020.”

Fitzherbert continued, “I will continue to fight for my conservative values of protecting the unborn, upholding the 2nd Amendment, promoting greater fiscal responsibility and prioritizing the needs of our Veterans. And, as I always have, will continue to work to grow the next generation of leaders through the Young Republican Organization. Thank you for the opportunity to run for Congress. God Bless South Jersey.”

The Fitzherbert campaign had received over fifty endorsements from elected officials and community leaders across South Jersey, as well as the endorsement from New Jersey Right to Life PAC as the preferred candidate for the pro-life community.

Greco Withdraws Endorsement Of Fitzherbert Says, “We Now Have A Republican Congressman”

Bob Greco

Bob Greco

When I issued my endorsement of Brian Fitzherbert for Congress in CD2 the seat was held by a Democrat. Circumstances have changed, we now have an incumbent Republican in Congressman Jeff Van Drew. My endorsement of Fitzherbert was made before Van Drew switched from Democrat to Republican.

As a former Republican Party County Chairman I always supported our incumbents. We now have an incumbent!

Congressman Jeff Van Drew made his announcement in the wake of Democrats pure political attempt to unconstitutionally strip President Donald J. Trump of his presidency through a partisan impeachment attempt. I believe this was the final straw for Congressman Van Drew. In the words of President Ronald Reagan, “The Democrat party has left me,” Van Drew said during his oval office announcement. (President Reagan began as a Hollywood Democrat, and Franklin D. Roosevelt was “a true hero to him. He moved to the right in the 1950s became a Republican in 1962 and emerged as a leading conservative spokesman in the Goldwater campaign of 1964).  Van Drew went on to say he gives his full support to our President and President Trump said the same to Congressman Van Drew.

My President has given his full support to Congressman (R) Jefferson Van Drew. I fully support President Trump, and I fully support Congressman Van Drew.

Greco went on to say Fitzherbert has a bright future in the Republican and he urges him to get behind Congress Van Drew and help take back the house.
